Case study:  In a previous job, one of Alpine Flamingo’s lead consultants designed and managed a laboratory (pictured above) to test various combinations of lighting, insulation, HVAC controls, energy storage and renewable energy systems.  This facility used real-world systems and real weather conditions, to directly measure the net energy required to power the equipment in small portable office shelters.

One of the shelters pictured was used as a control, and the other was used to test combinations of efficiency, energy storage and generation technologies.  This work showed, specifically, which technologies are effective and how they can be used together.

The result:  Fuel delivered to remote off-grid sites for electric generators that power similar buildings can be reduced by more than 30% annually (even more in very cold climates).
